Using this website
Accessibility Statement
We want Plymouth Plumbing Directory to be straightforward to use for as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technologies.
Last updated: 12 August 2026
Our accessibility aim
We aim to follow recognised web-accessibility good practice and use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as a reference point when developing and maintaining the directory. This statement does not claim that every page has been independently audited or is fully conformant with every WCAG 2.2 success criterion.
What you should be able to do
The directory is designed so that you can navigate its main content with a keyboard, use the skip link to move directly to page content, zoom text using browser controls, use the site on different screen sizes, and browse pages with semantic headings and labelled navigation.
Accessibility features built into the directory
- A keyboard-accessible “Skip to content” link is provided at the start of each page.
- Pages use heading structure, navigation landmarks and meaningful link text.
- The layout adapts to desktop, tablet and mobile screen sizes.
- Form controls and interactive elements are intended to remain usable without a mouse.
- Motion effects are reduced for users whose devices request reduced motion.
- Business images include text alternatives based on the business name where an image is used as listing content.
Known limitations
Some listing content is supplied by businesses or obtained from third-party sources, so we may not always control the accessibility or clarity of that material. Colour settings can also be customised by the directory operator, and poor colour choices may reduce contrast if they are not checked before publication.
Links may take you to third-party business websites. We are not responsible for the accessibility of those external websites.
Reporting an accessibility problem
If you find a part of this directory difficult to use, need information in a different format, or want to report an accessibility problem, please contact the directory operator. Include the page address and a short description of the problem if possible.

How we approach improvements
Accessibility should be considered when new directory features or templates are introduced. Reported problems can be reviewed alongside future updates so that barriers are removed where reasonably possible.
